THURSDAY VOLUNTEER GROUP
Help is always appreciated on the Thursday Volunteer Group, who meet each week to maintain the common area of the Allotments site.
Thursdays 9.00am to 12.00 noon, with a break for tea and biscuits.
No special expertise required, just bring yourself and a tea mug.
A small friendly group doing a great job together. Please drop in for tea and a chat any Thursday morning if you think you can spare the time to help. Many hands make light work.
HOSEPIPES

A question has been received regarding use of hosepipes on the allotments. The answer is that hosepipes can be used only for filling individual plot water butts from the standpipes. They should not be used for direct watering, and certainly never used in conjunction with automatic sprinkler systems.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WATER IS TURNED OFF AT THE END OF OCTOBER AND BACK ON IN MARCH EACH YEAR
Manure.
The RAGA Committee arrange for periodic deliveries of manure to the site.
Unlike the bark chippings, which are provided free of charge for plotholders to use, there will be a charge of £1 per barrowload for the manure. Please be fair and sensible about what constitutes a "barrowload", especially if your barrow is above average size. Payment can be made at the shop or direct bank payment [into the same account as you pay your rent, including "Manure" and your Plot Number in the narrative]
OVERGROWN GRASS PATHS.

Please note that the grass paths between plots are the responsibility of each individual plotholder. Please keep the pathways clear and the grass short to avoid hazards/ obstructions to other plotholders. Strimmers are available to hire for this purpose.
WINDFALL FRUITS.

Each year there sees to be a quantity of fruit left fallen to the ground to rot. This seems such a waste. See the article by Michael & Susan in the Summer 2018 Newsletter for a possible solution to this.

Wildlife Corner
